Jason (Jay) Homme, M.D. is an assistant professor of pediatrics and served as the pediatric residency Program Director at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for 9 years (2010-2019). He is a member of the Africa Partners Medical (APM) Board of Directors with a particular focus on the provision of continuing medical education opportunities for healthcare providers in Ghana. Dr. Homme has been traveling to Ghana since 2005 to participate as a faculty member and course director for various continuing medical education conferences.
Dr. Homme has also worked using a training of trainers model on several occasions (2013 – 2018) to help establish the Africa Partners Medical Ghana (APMG) training center located in Accra, Ghana and provided content expertise in Newborn Resuscitation (NR) and Basic Life Support (BLS). As a pediatrician and a medical educator,
Dr. Homme has a special interest in helping all members of the health care team work in a collaborative manner to provide the highest level of care to children. He has found the partnerships and friendships developed through many travels to Ghana to be inspirational
and highly educational personally and professionally. Personal interests include spending time with his wife of 24 years and their six children, reading, running, playing golf and basketball (as time permits). Dr. Homme is excited to serve on the board of directors for Africa Partners Medical and through APM targeted CME courses, seeking to serve and equip the next generation of healthcare worker to provide a lifetime of compassionate and quality care.
